يعرب مركز أندلس لدراسات التسامح ومناهضة العنف عن بالغ قلقه إزاء الأنباء الواردة بشأن اعتقال المحامية والناشطة الحقوقية الباكستانية إيمان مزاري-حاضر وزوجها هادي علي شاته في إسلام آباد بتاريخ 23 يناير 2026، أثناء توجههما لحضور جلسة قضائية.
ويؤكد المركز تضامنه الكامل مع إيمان مزاري-حاضر، المعروفة بدفاعها عن حقوق الإنسان وسيادة القانون وحرية التعبير، ويعتبر أن أي إجراءات قانونية مرتبطة بالتعبير السلمي عن الرأي، أو بالنشاط الحقوقي المشروع، تمثل تهديدًا خطيرًا للمساحة المدنية ولمبادئ العدالة.
إن حرية التعبير، وضمانات المحاكمة العادلة، وحماية المحامين والمدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان تشكل ركائز أساسية لأي نظام ديمقراطي، وأي انتهاك لهذه المبادئ يقوّض الثقة في المؤسسات القانونية ويبعث برسائل سلبية للمجتمع المدني في المنطقة وخارجها.
ويحث مركز أندلس السلطات الباكستانية على:
ضمان احترام الإجراءات القانونية الواجبة والمعايير الدولية للمحاكمة العادلة.
تأمين سلامة المحتجزين وحمايتهم من أي إساءة معاملة أو تضييق.
الكف عن استخدام القوانين الجنائية أو الرقمية لتقييد حرية التعبير أو استهداف الأصوات الحقوقية.
كما يؤكد المركز استمراره في متابعة القضية عن كثب، والعمل مع شركائه الإقليميين والدوليين للدفاع عن حرية الرأي والتعبير، وحماية المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان، وتعزيز ثقافة التسامح ونبذ العنف القانوني والمؤسسي.
إن استهداف الأصوات الحقوقية لا يحمي الاستقرار، بل يهدده، فيما يظل الحوار، وسيادة القانون، واحترام الحقوق الأساسية هي الطريق الأنجع لبناء مجتمعات آمنة وعادلة.

Regarding the arrest of lawyer and human rights activist Imaan Mazari-Hazir in Pakistan
The Andalus Center for Tolerance and Anti-Violence expresses its deep concern over reports regarding the arrest of Pakistani lawyer and human rights activist Imaan Mazari-Hazir and her husband Hadi Ali Chatha in Islamabad on 23 January 2026, while they were on their way to attend a court hearing.
The Center affirms its full solidarity with Imaan Mazari-Hazir, who is widely known for her defense of human rights, the rule of law, and freedom of expression. It considers that any legal measures related to the peaceful expression of opinion or legitimate human rights activism constitute a serious threat to civic space and to the principles of justice.
Freedom of expression, guarantees of fair trial, and the protection of lawyers and human rights defenders are fundamental pillars of any democratic system. Any violation of these principles undermines trust in legal institutions and sends negative signals to civil society both within the region and beyond.
The Andalus Center urges the Pakistani authorities to:
* Ensure respect for due legal process and international fair trial standards.
* Guarantee the safety of the detainees and protect them from any form of ill-treatment or harassment.
* Refrain from using criminal or digital laws to restrict freedom of expression or target human rights voices.
The Center also affirms its commitment to closely monitoring this case and to working with its regional and international partners to defend freedom of opinion and expression, protect human rights defenders, and promote a culture of tolerance while rejecting legal and institutional violence.
Targeting human rights voices does not safeguard stability; rather, it endangers it. Dialogue, the rule of law, and respect for fundamental rights remain the most effective path toward building safe and just societies.
